By Staff Reporter — MUSCAT: Jan. 3: The budget has earmarked RO 600 million for the health sector for 2017, said Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health. The amount accounts for 5.6 per cent of the overall expenditure. The current revenue is estimated at RO 36.9 million. Speaking to Oman Arabic, the minister said the current situation needs focus on finance and investment in healthcare sector. Emphasis will be on economically productive projects and social services such as health institutions and schools. The ministry will start an outpatient clinic at the Royal Hospital which will meet the increasing need for healthcare services besides other healthcare projects in the governorates of North and South Al Sharqiyah.
